Two Hundred and Seventy Three...
I saw Avatar. I thought I wasn't going to but it's the holidays and you are supposed to watch movies with your family or something.
I'd give it a fun six out of ten but the most interesting part I found about this film was the context in which I saw it. Considering the constant symbolic comparisons that could be made with the Iraq war, I found that I constantly felt uncomfortable, if not apologetic to the rest of the audience, considering the city in which I was watching this film. Being the liberal hippie I am I was mostly fine with it, aside from the ham-fisted delivery of it's message. But I mean, gosh, this film must have been outright offensive to the average Republican voter. I honestly thought the majority of the audience was going to cry out in frustration when, well, all that stuff happened in the end. Perhaps Republicans don't believe in symbolic representations within film and were mostly immune to the effects of it's message? Or perhaps it's really about Polar Bears and I just missed that?

Two Hundred and Fifty Nine...
ANIME!!!
I strongly feel that I finally arrived at a satisfying though surely absurd ending to my book. It's a strange feeling when you arrive at that point. You have these character's lives you've been holding in your hands for so long and that realization that you control their fates is so blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.

Two Hundred and Fifty Two...
You'd think writing a book would have some sort of cathartic quality to it but sadly I still have a strong desire to draw enormous explosions.
I've been reading Catch-22 and at times I found the book to be pretty aimless and far too drawn out, though still a good read, but I've recently gotten to that part where the writer delivers on all the promises and foreshadowing they made throughout the book and I have to say it's as good as any generally accepted classic I've read. Not quite 1984 gut check but still good. I think the humor in the book is very important beyond just being entertaining and insightful (and occasionally just plain tiring) in that it develops this false sense of security and there is a point where Heller gets into the details of war and cuts the crap and it's like, "Oh damn, this is war isn't it?" as your entire world is flipped upside down. Suddenly you feel really bad for Yossarian, at least I did, and you really don't want him to fly any more missions, you don't want anyone to fly anymore missions.
Obviously there is way more to the book than that but those are some of the stronger emotions I felt while reading it.

Two Hundred and Thirty Two...
I wrote a bunchy of loony shit here but I have deleted it, regardless of how nice it may have been, and I have secreted it away in the dark corners of my mind. There are nice things to be said that must be kept secret for the well being and balance of all mankind.
This drawing was also very prophetic.
